We have discovered a potential quality problem with our 12939 Wooden Bow and Arrows. During use, the suction cup may detach which could present an airway obstruction hazard to children. We found as well that upon impact on hard surface, the end of the arrow affixed to the suction cup may break. If the arrow were to be used without the broken part, it could present an impact hazard. The severity of this hazard may be increased if a person were to be struck in the eye. If you have bought one between 26th November 2012 and 9th January 2013, please check the batch mark located next to the barcode. If this says G12, please contact us for details on how to return and claim a full refund.

Any ten year old boy will tell you that archery is cool. Not only was Robin Hood one of the coolest British heroes ever (tights aside - that's just not ok), but the superior firepower of English archers gave us the universally recognised gesture of defiance - the V sign (check out the Battle of Agincourt if you don't believe us).

Now although we inherently understand that a bow and arrow are desirable items of retro warfare, few of us are able to fork out several hundred pounds on an Olympic standard device for what may turn out to be a passing fad. And it's just not good to let young people run loose with a "toy" which can have someone's eye out.

So may we suggest the much more sensible Wooden Archery Set? Constructed out of solid wood, this bow is just two feet long and built for action. The set also includes three arrows which are tipped with a suction cup. Great for sticking to walls, and far safer around eyes.

The bow also features a comfy grip to prevent your little one from chafing or blisters during extended target shooting sessions. In fact, there is everything the budding archer needs to get started and develop a passion for the sport. We even chuck in a cardboard target to get you started.

Now we don't want to spoil your fun, but you should remember that the longbow was originally created as a weapon of war and so we advise exercising some caution whilst using it. And good luck keeping it away from Dad!
