When we were lads, Spokey Dokeys were all the rage. In fact, the more impoverished of us made do with a clothes peg and a bit of cardboard which when attached at the right angle, made our pushbikes sound like Dougie Lampkin's trials bike on Junior Kick-start.

These days, youngsters are more sophisticated and now they nip round on their BMX's with these Tireflys attached to the valves, delivering a multi-coloured neon blur as they motor by.

Tireflys are tiny LED lights that screw onto bike or car tyres where the valve cap would usually sit and give some spectacular effects, particularly at night.

Motion activated, Tireflys automatically turn on when they're needed and off when they're not and each pack comes with a spare set of batteries, so should you run out of power unexpectedly, you can just slot another battery in and continue to light up the night as you cruise by.

They look amazing but just thought I’d say, I think they're illegal. A police car slowed down next to me and gave me a strange look. I'm just waiting for them to stop me and tell me to take them off. They’re very hard not to look at, therefore must be very distracting for other drivers...CRASH!
