Anyone old enough to remember the early 1980s can vouch for the massive cultural impact of the Space Invaders arcade game. Young men, teenagers and children would spend hours in darkened halls known as 'arcades' moving tiny triangle shapes across a screen shooting at steadily advancing alien life-forms who had amassed in ranks ready for an invasion.

Although gaming graphics have advanced unrecognisably, Space Invaders still retains a special place in hardcore gaming geek's hearts. And what better gift than an objet d'art that commemorates this societal milestone? One that is heat reactive of course!

Although this looks like a plain black mug, when filled with a hot beverage (tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cup-a-soup etc), the sides change to reveal masses of evil-looking alien invaders. Suddenly you will feel as though it is 1980 all over again.

On the downside, the mug cannot make authentic Space Invader noises meaning you will have to make them yourself to complete the flashback. But that's half the fun isn't it?!
