This updated watch is a remodel of the original LED Retro watches that were ground breaking and looked as if they came straight out of Star Trek – the Captain Kirk version.

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode and produces wonderful 70's style numbers made up of little segments.

After appearing in the James Bond Movie 'Live and Let Die' millions of LED watches were sold, but with the introduction of Seiko's LCD watch in 1979, LED almost became extinct overnight, rarely to ever return since the 70's. But now they're back and look better than ever.

These newly manufactured LED modules are much better on battery life and the batteries will normally last about 36 months after which it can be replaced. The style reminiscent of the 70's comprises a solid chunky watch with a scratch resistant face and with an adjustable bracelet, fits most adult sized wrists.

The TX LED Watch represents the cutting edge of authentic retro timepieces designed to offer many years of reliable service, while looking fantastic at the same time. We love it.

Factoid to impress the ladies:

Two clever chaps called Bob Biard and Gary Pittman found in 1961 that gallim arsenide gave off infrared light when electric current was applied this led the way for them to receive the patent for the infrared light-emitting diode. Further work by Nick Holonyak Jr of the GEC developed the first practical visible-spectrum LED in 1962. This then opened the way for the development of LED technology. The mass production of LED watches hit the world by storm and millions and millions were sold only to be replaced by the LCD (liquid crystal display) technology which uses much less power.
