Although we tend to view fans of rope through narrowed eyes (you did what to her?), we have to agree it does have it's uses. Tying stuff up, tying stuff down, etc etc. In fact, whenever you need anything tied, rope is probably the answer. But what about when you require a wine bottle holder? Rope would be rubbish at that wouldn't it?

Well the Lasso Wine Bottle Holder actually proves that the ever versatile rope can indeed be used to store a bottle of wine. And not only that, but the apparent gravity defying abilities of this particular wine holder are a joy to behold.

Now although you can only actually hold one bottle of wine (not included - sorry!) at a time, we reckon it is hard to fault the Lasso Wine Bottle Holder as both a work of defiant physics and a brilliant conversation piece. Because to all intents and purposes, the Lasso Wine Bottle Holder looks just like a length of loose rope which is attached to your wine bottle via a slipknot and which seems to suspend the wine in mid air. In fact, we reckon this amazing contraption actually looks not unlike a white cobra necking a bottle of cabernet sauvignon.

The first thing anyone seeing the Lasso Wine Bottle Holder for the first says is "how does it work?", which given our grounding (ha ha, get it?) in gravity seems a reasonable question. The secret is actually rather mundane (the rope conceals a chrome metal frame which provides the counterbalance and rigidity required to suspend the wine bottle in mid air), but it is a great way to get kids thinking. And adults too for that matter! Personally we would love to have seen what Isaac Newton would have made of it!

We also reckon that once you start drinking the, the Lasso Wine Bottle Holder may actually become even more mysterious. But we do know that this particular wine bottle holder will continue to defy gravity long after you do.
