The hanging alarm clock attaches to your ceiling and hangs down by a cable. When the alarm goes off and you reach up to hit the snooze button, the clock reels up the cable 30cm in one minute. Each time you hit snooze, the clock will wind up another 30cm.

The idea is that you are paying a penalty for each extra snooze as you need to reach up further each time you need an additional few minutes. The sound of the alarm is the Close Encounters tune, which is so happy you are bound to wake up smiling.

The idea is that eventually you will have to drag yourself out of bed to reach the alarm and switch it off. This gradual awakening will rouse you from your slumber gently but also make sure you actually make it out of bed.
