Mathmos Aduki is the latest creation from those super smart people at Mathmos (they created the original lava lamps). It's a handheld ergonomically designed lamp that's so cool it's impossible to put down, once you start holding it.

It adds a touch of class to any living space.... Watch as it gradually changes from a dark blue, to cool blue through to turquoise, and then a light green to a dark green.

The Aduki (named after a bean used in ceremonial dishes in Japan and China) is available in three different colour waves, each one moving through a variety of kaleidoscopic colours. For example, the blue to red model starts on blue and moves gradually through a spectrum of pinks and violet shades to reds and then starts again. A silicon button on the base of Aduki enables you to turn the light on/off, or to freeze on any colour you like.

Each one has a tiny face on it's underbelly too, just adding to the cool effect.

How it works:

- Recharge the Aduki.
- Unplug the Aduki.
- Turn it on and hold it, hang it or lay it flat.
- Watch Aduki do its magic, and enjoy.....
The polished zinc alloy base gives the Aduki weight and solidity, and a sense of quality. It comes with a cable charger, which is plugged in overnight and provides up to six hours of light, perfect for a full evening of entertainment. The Aduki uses high quality internal batteries which will give you between 750 and 1000 charge cycles.

My girlfriend loved it - I gave it to her for her birthday, and she asked me what it was. I told her it was a funky light that you charge up, but she still spent 45 minutes trying to get the get the batteries out. Very cool
